Scheduled to open in 2027, the 210-room Kimpton Fredericksburg will anchor a walkable 22-acre mixed-use development called the Meuse in this Texas Hill Country destination.

Named after Fredericksburg’s founder, John O. Meusebach, the development is designed to extend the downtown by adding more local charm through its luxury hospitality, retail and dining destinations.

"We are excited to continue growing our luxury and lifestyle presence within Texas," said Leanne Harwood, senior vice president and managing director of Luxury & Lifestyle Americas for IHG Hotels & Resorts. "The Kimpton Fredericksburg will complement our distinct properties and the memorable experiences guests can discover across the state."

The lifestyle hotel will be fashioned by Merriman Anderson Architects and interior design studio Curioso, aiming to provide a new social hub for the city. Details will include nods to the natural beauty of the Hill Country, plus intelligent climate systems and native, low-water-consuming landscaping and plumbing fixtures to minimize the property's environmental impact.

A host of amenities

The new property will feature several dining options, including a full-service restaurant and bar, along with a poolside bar and lounge. Guests will enjoy a 10,000-square-foot resort-style outdoor pool and deck, a state-of-the-art fitness center and a café with grab-and-go takeaways. As with all properties in the brand, the hotel will feature such perks as the Kimpton Social hour, a "Forgot It? We’ve Got It!" program, in-room yoga mats and pet-friendly policies.

The Kimpton Fredericksburg, just 90 minutes from Austin and San Antonio, will offer more than 18,500 square feet of indoor and outdoor event space, including an event barn, prefunction spaces, meeting rooms, a rooftop lounge and outdoor gathering areas.

Rising Texas destination

Fredericksburg is known for its historic architecture, locally owned boutiques and antique shops, myriad art galleries and farm-to-table cuisine.
